Exciting Student Leadership Opportunity (The following message was shared with student on Thursday, November 12 through Canvas, links may require your student’s canvas credentials to open.)

Hey Eagles!

Each year, all students in Howard County elect a student to sit on the actual Board of Education (you know, the people that make HCPSS policy decisions!).

EMMS is excited to present every Eagle with the chance to pick the initial candidates for the Student Member of the Board before the actual election. The SMoB Convention is a meaningful opportunity for you to lead and serve both your peers and community in a challenging and rewarding capacity. To find out more, check out the Cover Letter, and if you’re interested, please complete the Delegate Application. Complete the application and contact two staff members that will write you a good recommendation ASAP! All applications and recommendation forms are due by November 30.

If you’re interested in more leadership opportunities, the Howard County Association of Student Councils is a great organization!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Ms. Hoffman at rachel_hoffman@hcpss.org

We can’t wait to collaborate with you!
~Principal Gaylord and Ms. Hoffman

HCPSS Residency Reminder

Even though HCPSS is currently operating in a virtual learning environment, families need to alert their school if they move, especially if they move to another attendance area. While in the spring transfers between schools were minimized, it is now the 2020-2021 school year and all students should be enrolled at the school for their assigned attendance area. If you have moved, please complete the HCPSS Change of Address and Phone Number Form (Fillable PDF) and send both the form and requested documents to Ms. Heather Shafer, EMMS Student Services Secretary, by email: heather_shafer@hcpss.org.
